For me, every painting is an imagining of music.
How does someone listen to music? One person will be struck by the form in which a composition is cast, another has ears only for tone colours and timbres, a third lets the music wash over them without knowing which aspects they are experiencing. Anything goes; as a listener you may discover the most wonderful inventions in structure, colour or melody, but what matters is that you are moved.
